An experience-led project with physical and digital initiatives to re-connect people with the picturesque East Neuk of Fife.
We worked with the Living Lomonds Landscape Partnership to enhance the current visitor experience to re-connect people with the Lomond and Benarty Hills. The project aimed to encourage locals and new visitors alike to engage with the stunning landscape on their doorsteps.
The Welcome to the Hills project has four distinct focuses:
Simpler way finding through intuitive signage.
A map-based website that allows people to plan their visits and view local points of interest with downloadable maps and walking guides for the outdoors.
An app for families to use when out in the countryside that highlights fun activities and makes exploration easy.
New interactive touch panels within the visitor centres that immerse the visitor in the history of the area and local information.
We undertook an extensive programme of market and competitor analysis, as well as a review of the area’s existing identity and digital footprint. Our research findings, stakeholder meetings and persona workshops produced user profiles and helped our creatives develop a new identity for the region, which could be rolled out across all interpretive touch-points.
The Customer Experience Architecture spans between ‘real’ and digital platforms to make all engagements friendly, reassuring, relevant and positive.
The region has been given a voice and identity of its own, not only to engage with locals who may have lost touch with their environment, but also to encourage new visitors from farther afield.
